James J. Jeffries Deck of Playing Cards In The Box
This stunning complete set of cards (plus joker and original box) from 1909 features, on one side, James J. Jeffries in a hat and suit, bordered by a gold print and red background. The lot comes with a synopsis of the fights illustrated on the number sides of the cards. Example: The "6 of clubs" has a photo of a fight. The synopsis, next to "6 of clubs", reads, "Fredericks-Rafferty- A pair of Uncle Sam's best featherweights. Fighting at Chutes Park, Los Angeles, California. Friday, April 24, 1908, Rafferty won, 6 rounds." The box is Good, while the cards themselves are almost all NRMT.
