James Jeffries Fight Worn Sash

James Jeffries Fight Worn Sash

Handsome red white & blue sash was once worn around the waist by James Jeffries while entering the ring before a fight. Jeffries is the only Heavyweight Champion other than Rocky Marciano to retire undefeated. He was later convinced to come out of retirement to fight Jack Johnson. Sash is artfully placed within a large framed display measuring 31x31” with matted color print of Jeffries above and a plate which reads, “Flag Belt worn by James Jeffries around his waist when he entered the ring.” From the famed Tommy Farmer boxing collection, later obtained by Joel Platt. It is believed that this was once part of the famed Jeffries Barn.
