Jim Perry 1968 Game Used Twins Jersey
Given the frayed stitching, separated sleeve seam and enough dirt and sweat stains to lure Pig Pen into the bidding, Jim Perry must have lived in this game-used jersey as well as played in it in 1968. Perry went 8-6 for the Minnesota Twins that year. The team's seamstress and laundromat deserved a Cy Young. Gray/blue road flannel Spalding has blue Twins script with red border stitched across the front, and "Perry 31 44 68" embroidered on the bottom. That would indicate his number, size and the year. "Perry" is also stitched into the collar. Fabulous Twin Cities decal of players representing Minneapolis and St. Paul shaking hands tops the left sleeve. Perry didn't win 215 games in his career by being neat. This jersey is heavily used to the point of being threadbare. In other words, it's beautiful.
