Jim Rice Pawtucket Red Sox 1971 Game-Used Jersey
Jim Rice's size 44 Pawtucket Red Sox game-worn jersey fit him perfectly before he became the granite-built slugger for the Boston Red Sox. McAuliffe-manufactured light wool with felt "Red Sox" sewn across the chest and No. 14 in red with blue trim on the back shows grime at the collar and other light stains on the shoulders. Underarm vents, in vogue at the time, kept Rice cool in a 1974 season in which he won the International League's Triple Crown. That led to a promotion to the Red Sox that same year, and the rest is Hall of Fame history ... almost. Despite 382 home runs and a lifetime batting average of nearly .300, Cooperstown hasn't called yet. This came directly from a Pawtucket Red Sox employee who got it over 20 years ago.
