Jim Rowe's Signed Baseball Photograph Inventory (850 + pieces)
Huge accumulation by Jim Rowe that he used for trade and sales, sometimes at early hobby shows. The signatures were obtained either in person or through the mail - many of the players that did business with Jim would trade their signatures in return for unsigned photos of themselves. Sizes vary from postcard to 5" x 7" to 8" x 10" and almost all are black and white. Many of the photos originate from the lens of well-known photographer George Burke, later prints made by Jim. Some players are represented up to 20 times, with many deceased Hall of Famers. There are some signed cards as well. Highlights include Aparicio, Appling, Averill, Banks, Barlick, Bench, Berra, Boudreau, Carlton, Cepeda, Dandridge, Danning, Durocher, Faber, Feller, Ferrell, Gibson, Groat, Grimes, Henrich, Herman, Hunter, Irvin, Kell, Keltner, Larsen, Lemon, Marichal, Marion, Mize, Musial, Mungo, Newhouser, O'Neil, Owen, Perry, Pafko, Pappas, Radcliff, Raschi, Rizzuto, Roberts, Rhodes, Sain, Santo, Shawkey, Slaughter, Snider, Spahn, Sutton, Terry, Uhle, Vender Meer, Wertz, Wilhelm, Yost and many more. Interesting to note that some are still in binders that are marked "$7 an autograph" - boy, those were the days! Signatures average a grade of 9, with the photos in mainly EX-MT condition.
