Jimmie Foxx, the 2nd greatest power hitter of the Babe Ruth generation, outdid even the Babe by winning 3 MVPs to Ruth's 1, and a Triple Crown in 1933. He also was equally lethal playing for two teams, the A's and the Red Sox. Back when it took natural strength and not a 10 c.c. needle to hit 'em out, "The Beast" cleared the 50 HR plateau twice, topped by 58 in '32. The OAL (Harridge) ball was signed by Foxx on the sweet spot, and while the blue ink has faded a bit, the signature is VG and eminently readable on a highly appealing, lightly toned ball.
