Joe DiMaggio Game Worn Old Timers Jersey
Jack Acker's old vintage Yankee pinstripe flannel was resurrected one last time, for the beloved Yankee, Joe D. to wear in an Old Timer's game during the early 1970's. DiMaggio must have approved since he left a gorgeous, vintage black sharpie signature right across the sholders on the jersey's verso.The cream-colored flannel jersey with navy pinstripes has Yankees "NY" felt team logo on left breast and felt number "5" on the reverse. This was a number change from the time that the shirt was designated for DiMaggio, circa 1971-72. New jerseys were not made up for Old Timers' games; instead old jerseys were "recycled". Tagging on tail is "Spalding", [size] "44", "Set 1 #8P 1970" flag tag, with additional "70" chainstitched in blue. Inside the collar is sewn a white felt plate, chainstitched in blue, "Aker." Good Use.
