Joe DiMaggio Serigraph by LeRoy Neiman

Joe DiMaggio Serigraph by LeRoy Neiman

One of the most beloved and yet mysterious American sports figures of all-time, Joe DiMaggio is presented here in this dazzling, limited edition LeRoy Neiman serigraph doing what he did best, swing the bat. Numbered 68 of 458, the artwork measures roughly 49.5" x 42" in its frame, and is graded in NRMT condition. The number is displayed in pencil at the center of the bottom, with DiMaggio's pencil signature at the lower left and Neiman's at the lower right, also in pencil. DiMaggio made the most of his 13 major league seasons, being named to the All-Star Team in every one of those years while serving as one of the key cogs in no fewer than nine World Series championships. Neiman - who worked in oil, enamel, watercolor, pencil drawings, pastels, serigraphy, lithographs and etching - is considered by many to have been the first true sports artist. One note of interest: we have a DiMaggio limited edition bat in this auction with the same number.
