Joe DiMaggio Signed Painting to Jack LaMotta
It would be difficult to conjure two more Italian-American athletes during the 1940s than Joe DiMaggio and Jake LaMotta. DiMaggio played the best baseball of his career during this decade, which was highlighted by his incredible 56-game hitting streak in 1941. LaMotta struggled with the forces that ran boxing, but this decade had him defeating the great Sugar Ray Robinson and winning the world Middleweight Title over Marcel Cerdan. Artist Leon Wood has captured the image of DiMaggio on this 16" x 20" oil painting. DiMaggio has added his signature in gold pen, "To my friend Jake 'The Raging Bull' Best always Joe DiMaggio." This was part of the collection of Vikki LaMotta. EX condition. Includes a letter from the son of Vikki LaMotta.
