Joe DiMaggio Takes a Cut at the Plate Photograph (PSA Type II)

Joe DiMaggio Takes a Cut at the Plate Photograph (PSA Type II)

Vintage photograph capturing Joe DiMaggio at bat during a game in 1939. DiMaggio is pictured in his follow-through swing as he tracks the upward trajectory of the ball with his eyes. A "Dennis Michael Brearly" credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with the erroneous year, "1947," written in pencil. (Although no year is listed, the Centennial patch on the catcher's left sleeve, which was worn by all teams in 1939, conclusively dates it to that year.) The photo (8.5x7") displays several heavy diagonal creases in the lower left quadrant. Good to Very Good condition. Encapsulated by PSA as Type II Authentic.
