Gold Medal certificate from the 1964 Olympic Games, Tokyo, Japan. Joe Frazier took the gold in the light heavyweight class as an amateur, just moments before he would turn pro - 11 years before his first meeting with Muhammad Ali, who had won the gold in the previous Olympics. Certificate with gold border is printed in Japanese, French and English, “The Games of the XVIII Olympiad, Diploma - Frazier, Joseph - 1st, Boxing- Heavyweight.” On thick quality paper, black text in Japanese, along with that of the International Olympic Committee President, Avery Brundage, is painted on and raised off the page. Slight creasing. VG-EX. Measures 15x15”. Comes right from Joe Frazier.
