Joe Jackson Family Scrapbook

Joe Jackson Family Scrapbook

All of the following are pages from the Joe Jackson Family Scrapbook and are mounted on their original scrapbook pages, obtained directly from the family of Shoeless Joe Jackson. Includes: 1) 1916 Chicago White Sox Poster Print. A rare team printed photo of the 1916 White Sox including Shoeless Joe. One we have not seen before, the photo itself is 13.63x9", trimmed with some paper loss and creasing. 2-3) A pair of identical advertising cards for the "Pennant Winning Song of 1917" on separate pages. The baseball song of the 1917 World Series, it is pro-New York Giants, anti-Chicago White Sox; interesting that Jackson kept these. The card itself is 3.75x3.5". 4) 1917 St. Louis Browns (versus White Sox) Opening Game newspaper advertisement. 5-7) Classic Cy Young Photograph. An immortal photograph of Young in follow through by master lensman Charles M. Conlon is one of the most famous photos of Cy ever taken. Plus, matching images of Willie Mitchell and Cy Piers perhaps representing Joe or his family's favorite players based on the fact that they were kept and scrapbooked. All are about 8x10" Type I images. There are even family notes on some of them. They are clear taped and glued on the original scrapbook pages which we have preserved for authenticity. 8) 1937 Joe Jackson Barnstorming Letter. Refers to reunion of the 1908-09 Victor Mills team. NOTE: All the pages are filled with various early Joe Jackson newspaper articles.
