Joe Louis Fight Ticket Collection (3)

Joe Louis Fight Ticket Collection (3)

Great collection of three Joe Louis fight tickets includes: 1) June 28, 1939, vs. "Two Ton" Tony Galento. The fight was known for Galento's berating of the bronze bomber and saying "I'll murder the bum." Louis lamented that he grew to hate Galento even though he'd never hated anyone. Louis remarked that he decided he would punish him before knocking him out. While the result was a decisive win by TKO in the 4th, Louis would later call it the toughest fight he ever had. 2) January 25, 1939, vs. John Henry Lewis. The fight marked only the second Heavyweight Championship between two black boxers and was over before the first round bell rang. It was Lewis' last fight and the only time he was ever knocked out. 3) December 29, 1935, vs. Gastanga press ticket. All tickets are PSA Authentic.
