From the famed Mannie Seamon Collection, auctioned by Guernsey’s in 1990, this marvelous assemblage of Joe Louis ephemera will keep you entertained and fascinated for days! 1. Rare Vintage 16 MM films. Watch the craft of the greatest heavyweight ever in film reels from three of his most memorable fights: Tony Galento (20 minutes), Buddy & Max Baer (25 minutes), Nathan Mann (3 rounds). These films were used by the Louis Camp to study technique and strategy. Excellent condition. 2. Over 100 black & white photos from the 1940’s-70’s (2 color). EX to NRMT. A few are 8x10”, rest are smaller. Photos are all professional grade and show the champ in diverse situations with people from all over the world including, Japan & England. One with Muhammad Ali and Don King at a boxing writers’ dinner, another in Cuba with Jackie Robinson (1947), and plenty of others of Louis with family, friends, bodyguards & sparring partners. One photo is autographed by Louis. 3. Typed letter to MSG fight announcer, Harry Balogh. Signed at bottom by Joe Louis & managers, John Roxborough & Julian Black. Signatures are dark & bold. Letter typed on Joe Louis letterhead, is VG with original mailing envelope. 4. Joe Louis’ autobiography (EX), signed on the inside cover. Dust jacket is detached (VG). 5. Script for “The Joe Louis Story” by Robert Sylvester (EX). 6. Two narrated cartoons of Lou Ambers (artist, Phil Berube) regarding his greatest fight vs. Henry Armstrong. An amazing assemblage of the freshest Joe Louis material, amassed by Louis’ personal trainer, who was at his side for decades starting in 1942.
