Joe Louis Original Painting by Arthur K Miller

Joe Louis Original Painting by Arthur K Miller

He was Heavyweight Champion from 1937 to 1949, and Joe Louis is brilliantly depicted in this banner-style canvas that was hand-painted by Maine-based sports artist Arthur K. Miller. Featuring exceptional color and likeness, the 25.75" x 55.75" piece was meant to be hung unframed and was signed lower right-center by Miller. The "Brown Bomber" helped resuscitate the sport of boxing after a lull following the Jack Dempsey era, and this work triumphantly celebrates the popular pugilist.
