Amazing collection of news service wire photos (44) of world heavyweight boxing champion Joe Louis. Lots of fight action as well as training, family, military and political photos. Sizes range from 5" x 7" to 8 1/2" x 12". Conditions vary but are mostly VG-EX. Some have newspaper edit markings. Fight action shots include bouts with Lou Nova, Abe Simon, Red Burman, Tony Musto, Jim Robinson and Arturo Godoy among others. Several photos are of Louis in U.S. Army uniform and there is even a shot of Louis with Richard M. Nixon. Louis endorsed Nixon for President in 1968.
