Joe Louis Training Camp Pennant
On June 25, 1948 at Yankee Stadium in New York, heavyweight champion Joe Louis defended his title against Jersey Joe Walcott for the second time in six months. In this second fight, Louis took care of business and knocked out Walcott in the 11th round. Offered here is a souvenir pennant from Louis' training camp in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, dated June, 1948. There are tack holes, which caused clipping at the far right end, and slight tears at the top and bottom left corners. Tassels are present and intact. Color slightly faded, but still perfectly readable. Extremely rare pennant. 24" long excluding the tassels.
