Joe Louis Training Gloves

Joe Louis Training Gloves

Joe Louis was arguably the greatest heavyweight champion of all time. He won the title in 1937 and held it for eleven years, longer than any other man. He beat some of the best fighters of all time including Sharkey, Braddock, Schmeling, Carnera, Walcott, and Max Baer. His autograph is one of the most desired and his equipment and awards are rare and sought after. Offered here are a pair of training worn gloves used by Joe Louis. 16 ounce with Frager manufacturing labels at each wrist for these circa 1940's black leather sparring gloves. The gloves are labeled on the backhand in white marker which is light, but readable, "Training Gloves Joe Louis." Includes original laces. Ex Ring Collection. LOA from Craig Hamilton of JO Sports, Inc.
