Joe Louis vs. Max Schmeling Print Signed by Both
Mauves, burgundies and other shades of red color this 1973 recollection of the classic Louis/Schmeling re-match on June 22, 1938 at Yankee Stadium. Limited edition print is signed at the bottom by both fighters in 9/10 pencil. Numbered 596/1,500, this is part of an issue produced in 1973 by Rockwellian artist Bob Peak. In the original silver frame which measures 17 x 20 ?”, the white mat includes print, “World Heavyweight Championship Prizefight June 22, 1938 Yankee Stadium, New York.” Original certificate of authenticity showing both fighters signing is still affixed to the back of the frame. Print itself is EX-MT.
