Joe Louis Vs. Tony Galento Full Ticket
On June 28, 1939 World Heavyweight Champion Joe Louis defended his title against Tony Galento at Yankee Stadium in New York. Galento, a hard punching rough and tumble sort, knocked Louis down early in the fight. Louis recovered and administered a ferocious beating on "Two Ton" Tony before stopping him in the fourth round. Offered here is an original full, unused ticket for this event. This full ticket pictures both fighters and includes a section, row and seat number. Ticket is creased and exhibits some edge and corner wear. Overall VG condition. This version of the full ticket with pictures of the fighters is quite rare. Authenticated by PSA/DNA.
