Joe Louis Worn Boxing Shoes

Joe Louis Worn Boxing Shoes

Hard-soled, with thin black leather all around, these lightly used, but certainly worn, boxing shoes of Heavyweight champ Joe Louis are big-tongued and long-laced size 12’s, and, though worn in the ring, they are in such great shape that it could be assumed their minimal use was in one of those bouts where the Brown Bomber destroyed his opponent in the first round. Louis held on to his title of World Heavyweight Champ for nearly twelve years, with a break during WW II, when the champ traveled Europe as a national spokesman for the Army, performing in exhibition matches and visiting with the troops. These come from the Manny Seamon collection. LOA.
