The legend of "Broadway Joe" Namath began in the Big Apple with the New York Jets' first game at Shea Stadium on September 18, 1965. That was the day Namath first took the field and threw his first AFL touchdown pass to Don Maynard. Namath did not play in the first game of the season, a week earlier in Houston. The condition of this colorful game program is NRMT and boldly signed in blue Sharpie by Maynard on the front cover. The Jets would fall to the Kansas City Chiefs that afternoon in Queens, 14-10, but the seed for the Super Bowl III championship had been planted.
