Joe Walcot vs Rocky Marciano Boxing Program (1952)
Official program book for the September 23, 1952 fight between then Champion Jersey Joe Walcott and challenger Rocky Marciano. Program book is 8 1/2" x 11" and 24 pages including cover. It is in VG overall with some tears and scuffing on the spine and cover. Staples are rusty and cover is separated from text pages. Inside pages are EX. Although he was the challenger, the "Brockton Blockbuster" was a 9-5 favorite in the bout. Marciano gor off to a slow start and was dropped in round one by the Champ, but he got up, recoverred and knocked Walcott out in the thirteenth round with a right, becoming the new world heavyweight champion.
