Joey Giardello Vs. Ralph Dupas On Site Fight Poster With Giardello Signed Shoes
It was billed as ‘The Battle of the Uncrowned Champions.’ Hardscrabble Philadelphia middleweight Joey Giardello vs New Orleans middleweight Ralph Dupas, March 6, 1961 at the Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans. In the end Dupas would come out on top in a 10-round decision. You can almost smell the booze and cigar smoke at ringside just looking at this boxing collection, which includes an on site VG poster promoting the fight and a pair of 1960s-era Everlast boxing shoes worn and signed by Giardello. The white poster is faded and slightly yellowed and contains several fold creases. The shoes are in very good condition with red laces and Giardello’s signature in ink on the outside of both the left and right ankles.
