This beautifully preserved stock certificate worth 100 shares in the Standard Oil Trust is an incredible piece of U.S. financial history. Created by John D. Rockefeller, the world's first billionaire, and run ruthlessly by Henry M. Flagler - both of whom grace this exceptional document with their signatures - the Standard Oil Trust is considered by many to be the most important company in the history of American business. The 8x12" certificate is issued to Roswell P. Flower & Co., the then-Governor of New York, and includes stand-in receipt no. A1034, dated November 2, 1887.
