John L. Sullivan Books Including The Modern Gladiator (3)
This group is of three very scarce volumes for the great John L. Sullivan. The first is the hard cover "Modern Gladiator" by John L. Sullivan which is a first edition, 1889. Printed in the original boards this consists of 384 pages, some loose with foxing. The second is "Life and Reminiscences of a Nineteenth Century Gladiator" by John L. Sullivan, printed in London in 1892. It is 294 pages complete in original boards and displays some foxing. Third is another copy of "Reminiscences Of A 19th Century Gladiator" from 1892 that is in VG condition. This lot also includes an original newspaper dealing with Wyatt Earp and his controversial refereeing of the Robert Fitzsimmons-Tom Sharkey bout (VG).
