John McGraw with Wildcat Original Glass Negative
Original glass negative capturing New York Giants longtime manager John McGraw posing on the sideline at the Polo Grounds. This is an especially unusual photo, as McGraw is holding what appears to be an ocelot. Although no date is listed, the uniform style shown here was worn by the Giants from 1913 to 1916. The glass negative (7x5") displays moderate areas of emulsion loss along the top border that does not affect the central image. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive.
