John Quincy Adams Signed Book
An amazing written "oration" by the sixth American President, entitled, <i>Oration on the Life and Character of Gilbert Motier de Lafayette Delivered at the Request of Both Houses of the Congress of the United States, Before Them, in the House of Representatives at Washington, On the 31st December, 1834.</i> Written at the request of both Houses of the Congress in 1834. By this time, John Quincy Adams had already served a four-year presidency, and was serving as a member of the House of Representatives, as elected in 1830. A fabulous inscription and signature penned in black fountain pen is inserted before the title page. Signed to "Francis W. Pickens from John Quincy Adams." Pickens would later become the Governor of South Carolina. Signature grades a 7 out of a possible 10. Binding is somewhat separated, o/w VG. Comes in protective sleeve.
