JohnMcSherry Framed Photo from Umpires Room
This photo that hung on the wall of the entrance to the umpire’s room at Busch Stadium honors the memory of John McSherry, the popular ump who collapsed and died at Riverfront Stadium on April 1, 1996. McSherry, who was calling balls and strikes that day, was the only man to ever die on the field during a game in major league history. The b&w photo is matted against a gray background and surrounded by a black frame measuring 15” wide and 17” long. The matted area contains a gold plaque reading simply, and sadly: “John McSherry, 1944-1996”. EX-MT condition. <br>(Estimate $200 - $300)
