Jose Torres' Roberto Clemente Award (18" tall)
Award is a tribute to the Great Roberto Clemente, a large bronze bust on podium of the Puerto Rican legend. Awarded to Olympian and world champion, Jose Chegui Torres while he was Chairman of the NY state Boxing Commission, front plate is engraved, “National Association for Puerto Ricans Civil Rights, Inc.” Engraving also outlines that this was awarded to “Jose (Chegui) Torres” on May 30, 1986 “for his great achievements to the sports world and his devotion to improve the physical development of our young athletes - Damaso Emeric, President, May 30, 1986 - New York City.” Front plate is somewhat scratched, o/w EX-MT condition. LOA from Torres.
