Julius Erving 1977 NBA Finals Game 6 Worn Autographed Sneakers

Julius Erving 1977 NBA Finals Game 6 Worn Autographed Sneakers

Vintage "Dr. J" Converse All Stars will be a tough pair to fill, having once covered the mammoth-sized extremities of ABA ambassador, Julius Erving. An unforgettable NBA hardwood classic was created by Dr. J and the Philadelphia 76ers, while he wore these 14" long red & white leather high-tops on June 5, 1977, in a heartbreaking loss to the Portland Trailblazers. The doctor's NBA championship title would elude him until 1983, when he finally led the Sixers to glory. The shoes are in fabulous condition, each bearing the name Erving earned as a high school phenom, "Dr. J" in red block letters. Erving then sealed the deal after the game, signing each shoe in black ink along with the date: one is signed "To Sherry - from Julius Dr. J Erving, 6/5/77" (this was a gift to his sister), the other signed, "To Bill from Julius Dr. J Erving, Happy B-Day, 6/5/77" (this was a birthday gift ot Bill). Both sneakers show excellent use and wear. LOA from Julius Erving's sister.
