July 20,1969 Game Ball From Mets vs. Expos The Day We Landed On the Moon
It was often stated that man would walk on the moon before the Mets would ever win a World Series. Well on July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong took his one famous step for mankind on the lunar surface, then on October 16 of that year, the Amazin' Mets became the first expansion franchise to capture the Fall Classic, stunning the Baltimore Orioles in five games for their first championship. Here's a ball that perfectly ties both of those events together in a neat little bow: a game ball signed by 11 Montreal Expos from the day we landed on the moon. It was used in a doubleheader between the Mets and Montreal Expos in Canada as the two clubs split a doubleheader that Sunday afternoon at Parc Jarry. The date is on the sweet spot in French. The ball shows use, is rubbed up and comes with an LOA. One small step for your collection?
