June 22, 1938 Joe Louis vs. Max Schmeling fight presentation piece signed by both fighters. The piece measures 8" x 5 1/2" and is in the shape/form of a book. The cover has a stitched drawing of a boxing glove as well as 2 heads representing both Louis and Schmeling. The interior indicates that the piece was presented at The Philadelphia Inquirer Fight Party and lists each guest and the (3) Inquirer dignitaries present at the party. Most importantly is the last page which has an autograph of both Joe Louis in black ink and Max Schmeling in blue ink. The book is in nice presentable condition with the interior and autographs in excellent shape. The book is warped from storage and age. The binding of the book has come completely undone over the years and needs to be re-glued. The book is still all attached thanks to the original tie holding the interior of the book together. A rare and important boxing memorabilia piece. Also present is the original box in fair condition.
