Kahn’s Weiner Wrappers (13)
Kahn’s Wieners, “The Wiener the World Awaited,” printed baseball cards and tossed them into packs of hot dogs. The first batch came out in 1955. This group is from 1966 and it is in truly amazing condition. Looks like they were printed yesterday. They are also uncut and in a complete set, both qualities that are near impossible to find. 1966 was the fourth new format in five years for these cards. The design consists of a color photo bordered by white and yellow vertical stripes. The cards alone are 2-13/16 X 4”. The top portion consists of a 2-13/16 X 1-3/8 advertising panel with a red rose logo and the word “Kahn’s.” Because the top portions are included in this lot they are worth more than double than if the collection were just the cards alone. Players on cards are: Felipe Alou, Jim Maloney, Bob Veale, Sam Ellis, Tommy Harper, Dennis Menke, Leo Cardenas, Denny Lemaster, Jim Pagliaroni, Bill McCool, Pedro Gonzalez, Robert Bailey and Mack Jones.
