Keith Hernandez St. Louis Cardinals Rookie Jersey
Drafted in the 42nd round of the 1971 amateur draft, Keith Hernandez's fast-tracked to the big leagues with a mitt that velcro'd any ball hit in the vicinity of first base, and a quick slashing bat. His never-a-dull-moment, 17-year career included 11 straight Gold Gloves, co-MVP honors in '79, headlines about drug use, a glorious championship with the Mets in '86 and making out with Elaine Benes on "Seinfeld." This classic Cards jersey from '75 marks where it all started for Keith, who hit .250 as a rookie a year before taking over first base full time. White home jersey has "Cardinals" and the team logo on front with "37" on front and back and "Hernandez" across the back in red on black tackle twill. Hernandez signed the lower front of the shirt (8/10) in blue marker. "Rawlings [size] 42" tag on lower front interior with flag tag reading "Set 1 #8P 1975." Extensive use including a few team repairs. But no cigarette burns.
