Ken Norton 1976 Fight Worn Gloves from Norton vs. Ali III at Yankee Stadium - Signed by Norton & Ali (Resolution Photomatching LOA)
Ken Norton's gloves from one of the most controversial decisions in boxing history. The rubber match of their career trilogy was given to Muhammad Ali but through the years fans and critics have argued incessantly. Brilliant Everlast boxing gloves are each signed. Interestingly, the right glove is signed by the Champ Muhammad Ali, and the left by one of his greatest competitors in perhaps the finest stable of fighters ever in one division. The lot comes with photographs of each signing his glove. In the Norton photo, the ever-suspicious Kenny (perhaps he has never gotten over this one) is inspecting the inside of the glove to confirm that his initials are written. They are; the all-important "KN #1" is written inside each glove. Nice wear on both, with Everlast logos having a thin whitish line from tape residue. Gloves are photo matched to the cover of the New York Daily News. Lot will include other goodies including a signed ticket, promotional ashtray signed by Ali, poster, program, pin, press kit and Letter of Authenticity from the original owner who obtained the gloves right after the fight. Each glove is certified by PSA/DNA. Also accompanied with a detailed full photo-match LOA from Resolution Photomatching.
