Kronk Boxers Fight Worn Robes and Trunks (5)
For over three decades Emanuel Steward’s world famous Kronk Gym has been a cultivating ground for boxers of every age and size, from legendary champions to pre-teen Golden Glove hopefuls. Offered are fight worn garments from four champions, all disciples at the Detroit gym. From welterweight Milton McCrory are gold satin trunks, [size] “L”, with red and blue trim, embroidered “Ice Man” with “KRONK” in blue tackle twill, as well as his white satin robe with red tackle “Milton McCrory” on the reverse. Gerald McClellan, former WBC Middleweight king, has his gold satin trunks, [size] “L”, embroidered “G-Man” and “Kronk” in green. The white and red satin “Orion” hooded robe was worn by lightweight Donny “Golden Boy” Lalonde during his ’88 bout with Sugar Ray Leonard. Finally, there is the white “Spartan” hooded robe with red stripe trim donned by Iran “Blade” Barkley, signed and inscribed in black sharpie. All items show solid wear.
