Large 1974 George Foreman vs. Ken Norton Fight Poster
Presented is a large (42x54") fight poster for the March 26, 1974, World's Heavyweight Championship fight in Caracas, Venezuela, between defending champion George Foreman and challenger Ken Norton. Foreman had won the World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Joe Frazier with six knockdowns within two rounds. Then Foreman defended his title by knocking challenger Jose Roman unconscious in two minutes. In part, Norton earned increased prominence and a shot at Foreman's Heavyweight title by Norton defeating Muhammad Ali and then losing a controversial decision to Ali within a six-month span. This is the closed-circuit version of the poster. The black and white poster is mounted on linen. Depicted are images of Foreman and Norton in fighting mode. The poster reads, "WORLD'S HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP/Foreman vs. Norton/Tuesday March 26, 1974/15 Rounds/No Home Radio or TV"/A presentation of Video Techniques Inc." The large poster is in excellent condition and it would make a splash with sports aficionados either as a great wall hanging display or as a fascinating framed attraction.
