Large Horseshoe Made By Robert Fitsimmons

Large Horseshoe Made By Robert Fitsimmons

Robert Fitzsimmons was one of the world's greatest fighters in the late 19th and early 20th century. He won world titles in the Middleweight, Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight Divisions. Fitz developed his tremendous punching power working as a blacksmith before taking up fighting. This was a craft he retained and after winning titles he often forged souvenirs for his adoring fans. Offered here is one such keepsake - an oversized horseshoe made by Fitzsimmons himself. The horseshoe (which might fit a dinosaur) features numerous stars and the name Robert Fitzsimmons etched into it. Some paint specs with edge and surface wear. Irregularly shaped to 13" x 15", it comes with a second generation photo of Fitz working as a blacksmith.
