Large Ted Williams Painting (36x48”)
Inspiring impression of the Splendid Splinter. Exquisite moment is frozen in time, the work of artist, Robert Arthur. Teddy’s eyes are pointed to the sky above right center field, following the path of his ball after follow through as he calmly leans toward first base. Umpire and catcher fixated on that same object. Painted with heavy and dark blues / grays which emphasize the artist’s subject, the great ‘splinter’, who is illuminated by a semblance of light against his white Red Sox uniform. Fittingly, the baseball immortal emits a “heavenly” glow, with his body position forming smooth, flowing lines. On the whole, a timeless and breathtaking work of art that will command attention in any space. Frame measures 40.5x52”. Paint is close to perfect condition with the exception of some tiny spots, which blend into background. Colors are vibrant and strong.
