Last Knife Made by Daniel Boone Descendant D. Boone with 1978 Documentation

The last descendant of famed American explorer and pioneer Daniel Boone manufactured this heavy hunting knife by hand and severely injured his hand in the process. Dee Boone was living in Oklahoma at the time and, due to the injury (he nearly lost a finger) and his advanced age (he was approaching 90), this is believed to be the last knife he made by hand. A letter detailing its acquisition and an photocopied article on the Boone boys is included in the lot. The curved blade is 5.5" long and has "BOONE" engraved on it. The handle is wood and metal.
