Late 1920's Lou Gehrig Single Signed Baseball (JSA)

Late 1920's Lou Gehrig Single Signed Baseball (JSA)

The Iron Horse needs no introduction as he is one of a handful of athletes whose legends are as much a part of American culture as of the world of sports. Needless to say, single signed Gehrig baseballs are always in demand.Offered here is a Official National League baseball bearing stamp of "Steve O'Neill," who was most likely a minor league president. It was a common practice at the time for minor leagues to order Major League baseballs without the president stamp and then apply the stamp of their own president. While the ball has browned over the years, Gehrig is clearly visible on a side panel, just below the circular Spalding stamp in 3/10 black fountain pen. Full LOA from JSA.
