Late 1960s Cincinnati Royals Shooting Shirt

Late 1960s Cincinnati Royals Shooting Shirt

After they were known as the Rochester Royals and long before they became the Sacramento Kings, the Cincinnati Royals played 15 seasons in the NBA between 1957-72. From the latter years of that era comes this "royal" blue warm-up shirt with red and white lettering and trim. The original "ROYALS" is stitched across the front, as is the number "9" at the bottom (no player wore number 9 for the Royals during the late 1960s so this could have been for inventory purposes). Late 1960s Sand Knit tags in the collar identify this to be a size 46, and the name plate is buttoned on the back with "LACEY" for Sam Lacey sewn on-the plate, though it is not original to the shirt. The shirt shows nice use with a few small pulls and rips.
