Lefty Gomez and Charley Gehringer Academy of Sports Membership Cards (2)
The New York World’s Fair of 1939 offered among other things a baseball school at its ‘Court of Sport.’ On consecutive days (June 17th and 18th) of that year, baseball stars Charley Gehringer and Lefty Gomez were invited to attend and participate in the activities. Here are the two passes for their admittance – and think of the surprise factor to the other attendees!Both passes are in essentially mint condition - interesting collectibles to what must have been a great day at ‘The Fair.’
