LeRoy Neiman "Southpaw" Twice-Signed Original Sketch

LeRoy Neiman "Southpaw" Twice-Signed Original Sketch

Original sketch, titled "Southpaw," by renowned sports artist LeRoy Neiman. The mixed-media drawing (either on paper or board) pictures a left hand gripping a baseball. Neiman has signed, dated, and titled the piece in pencil along the base: "LeRoy Neiman '81 Southpaw." The original owner of the piece had it framed and a few years later he was lucky enough to have Neiman inscribe it in black ink on the reverse: To Ron Edward/'Throw Hard'/LeRoy Neiman '85." LeRoy Neiman original artworks have always been highly prized by collectors and this is an especially detailed study. The artwork (14x8.25"; visible dimensions) is in apparent Near Mint condition. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 26x20" (the frame is damaged, with a large scratch to the front Plexiglass and a crack along the right border). The size and/or weight of this lot will necessitate an increased shipping charge.
