"Life at the Latin Casino" Photograph Archive with Some Signed (120+)
From the mid-1940s to mid-50s, Philadelphia's Latin Casino was a premier hot spot with top acts from around the world appearing at the trendy nightclub. This golden era was immortalized in photographer Bernard Coane's book, "Life at the Latin Casino," and this lot contains the typewritten manuscript and original photos that led to that publication. Each page is contained in a plastic sheet in this hefty looseleaf binder, with just over 120 photos and additional news clippings included. Some of the photos are autographed by stars of the day such as: Buddy Hackett (2), Eartha Kitt, Eddie Fisher, Louis Armstrong, Mae West, Pat Boone, and more; and tremendous images of the likes of Harry Belafonte, Joe DiMaggio (in tuxedo), Tony Bennett, and so many more. Photos are vintage; tremendous look at the big-band and Latin music craze.
