Lindbergh Kidnapping Official Trial Pass (Hauptmann Trial)
Official Pass to the trial of Bruno Hauptmann for the killing of the famed aviator's son. The trial, held in Flemington, New Jersey, under the glare of a media frenzy, began on January 2, 1935, and ended on February 13 with Hauptmann's conviction (he went to the chair a year later). The pass, issued to Alfred McCabe, deputy sheriff of Easton, Pennsylvania, was for the January 14, 1935 session. Pass measures 3.25x 4.25" with the rounded lower left corner slightly torn off, minor edge fraying and back damage.
