Lloyd Price 1950s Rochester Concert Poster

Lloyd Price 1950s Rochester Concert Poster

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Lloyd Price combined gritty blues with a big band flourish on hits like "Stagger Lee", "Personality" and Come Into My Heart". Price, who still performs today, had his first hit in 1952 and in the late '50s toured extensively, playing venues large and small. This vintage poster was for a gig at the Chestnut Street Roller Palace in Rochester, with tickets going for $2.50. Price is shown in a typical '50s pose, in skinny tie and slicked-up hair in the yellow and white poster, billed as "The Star of Stars". 14 x 21" cardboard piece shows damage including tacking holes in corners and general wear but remains a vibrant echo of an innocent era.
