DeBenneville "Bert" Bell was a co-founder of the Philadelphia Eagles, coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Commissioner of the National Football League. This lot contains ten canceled checks drawn on the "Philadelphia Eagles Pro. Football Club Inc." account during the 1940 season, made to various individuals, and signed "deBenneville Bell," President. Eight of the checks contain notes that they are salary payments for specific games; two have no notations.
