Lou Gehrig Autographed Fan Letter
A beautiful, clear Lou Gehrig signature adorns this letter by a fan to Gehrig requesting his autograph. Gehrig's signature is written in clear, black fountain ink at the bottom of the page and rates a "9" out of a possible 10. The letter is written on line paper and dated September 21, 1927. Included is the original envelope the letter came in, post marked New York City, September 24, 1927 and complete with a canceled 2 cent postage stamp of George Washington. This letter comes from Gehrig's first AL MVP season and was written less than 2 weeks before the start of the 1927 World Series. The paper shows minor aging but is otherwise NRMT. An Iron Horse classic.
